Testimonial from Therapist Author Nancy Mickelson, LCSW
"This writing group has provided me the ability to be vulnerable and believe in myself as a writer! I always knew I had many "stories" to tell, I just needed the space to learn how to begin the process! Thank you Khara for your knowledge and leadership!"
Testimonial from Therapist Author Sarah Freeze, LCSW
"Khara’s writing workshop somehow managed to turn a massive undertaking (i.e., writing and publishing a book) into a process that is digestible and realistic. She was generous in sharing her process and experiences for the benefit of our writing group. Plus, her organization and exercises facilitated a significant growth process. I am walking away with a book outline, some chapters written, and a plan for next steps around tasks like editing, publishing, and marketing. I highly recommend participating if you have had an idea for a book but are feeling stalled or scared. You’ll walk away with more confidence and the support of a welcoming community."
Hello, I'm Khara and I'm addicted to writing
In elementary school, my sister and I both won awards for writing. We were also avid readers and entrepreneurs, making custom cards with clever rhymes to compete with Hallmark at the age of 10. Fast forward to adulthood and being a private practice owner where I re-discovered my love of writing through blogs on my website. I became a self-published author in 2019 and landed my first publisher contract in 2022. I have written a book a year for the past six years. My ninth book is publishing in early 2025 and it's safe to say I'm addicted to writing!
I want to teach you what I've learned in the past six years as an author, including tips for writing your book, identifying your audience, marketing strategies, and the pros and cons of self-publishing vs. a traditional publisher. Join me for some compassionate accountability in this 3-day writing workshop for therapists!
Testimonial from Therapist Author Christy Lynn Miller, MA, LPC
"I found this format to be inviting, instructional, and inspiring. Khara has led the way in writing books that are changing and growing our field. This is an intimate setting designed to learn from her expertise."
Testimonial from Therapist Author Ashley Charbonneau
"I enrolled in Khara's writing workshop with high expectations, which were certainly met. Khara provided a place to explore goals, style, voice, and ideas related to writing and my book. She clearly put a lot of effort into planning this workshop, as she provided each participant with a workbook, encouraged conversations to generate ideas and feedback, and shared resources about the publishing industry. I would highly recommend any professional considering writing a book to enroll in her workshop!"
Testimonial from Therapist Author Cait Munino
"I had been thinking about my book and even started it two years prior to this workshop. I would pick it up to work on and then stop every few months. In taking this workshop I learned the tools to help me move forward from a concept to a clear and executable plan that I have already done more on in these three weeks than I have in two years. I have gained excitement for my author journey and a group of incredible clinicians that I am looking forward to growing in authorship with but also I cannot wait to read every one of their books."
