About Becoming a Financial Therapist
There is no single road to becoming a financial therapist—only stories that light the way.
In this book, twenty practitioners and leaders share how they found their way into the still-emerging field of financial therapy. Some began in finance and stumbled into the emotions; others trained as therapists and discovered that money could no longer be left at the door. All of them walked a path shaped by personal histories, professional courage, and a willingness to integrate what had once been kept apart.
Whether you are a financial advisor, planner, accountant, mental health professional, or money coach, you’ll find both inspiration and practical guidance here. Each chapter offers a window into one person’s journey, paired with reflection prompts and exercises to help you explore your own relationship with money and meaning.
Part memoir, part mentoring, this collection is an invitation: to see yourself in the struggles and breakthroughs of those who came before, to deepen your own money story, and to consider financial therapy as a path toward purpose, belonging, and professional fulfillment.
Becoming a financial therapist isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about learning to sit at the intersection of money and emotion—and discovering that this is where healing, growth, and wholeness begin.
